Achieving “No.1 Ratings” Just a Month After Airing: This Korean Drama Beats World Cup Broadcast

According to Nielsen Korea, the November 14 broadcast of “My Merry Marriage” drew 2.072 million viewers, ranking first in overall viewership ratings. Household ratings rose to 12.5%, a 0.9% increase from the previous week.
This top ranking is particularly significant as it beat the strong competitor SBS’s “2026 North and Central America World Cup Asian Qualifier – Korea vs. Kuwait”, which drew 2.017 million viewers with a household rating of 10.6%. In the match, South Korea’s national team, led by coach Hong Myung-bo, triumphed over Kuwait with a 3-1 victory, securing their fourth consecutive win.

Following in the ratings were KBS2’s “Snow White’s Revenge”, starring Han Chae-young and Han Bo-reum, with 1.4 million viewers in third place, while MBC’s “News Desk” and KBS1’s “Screening Humanity” rounded out the top five.
First aired on October 7, “My Merry Marriage” resonates with viewers by tackling various aspects of marriage such as divorce, remarriage and single life. Its warm messages on the true meaning of “happiness”, paired with humor, make it a family drama that appeals across generations.
Actors Park Ha-na as Maeng Gong-hee and Park Sang-nam as Goo Dan-soo deliver outstanding chemistry, earning praise from viewers. Other skilled cast members—Kim Sa-kwon, Lee Yeon-doo, Yang Mi-kyung, Choi Jae-sung, Ban Hyo-jung, Lee Eun-hyung, Yang Hee-kyung, Park Tam-hee and Jeon Soo-kyeong—add to the drama’s appeal with diverse characters.
With an increase of 164,000 viewers compared to the previous week, this drama continues to rise in popularity. Its strong storyline and the cast’s stellar acting performances are expected to keep ratings high. “My Merry Marriage” airs Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM on KBS1.
